The Family Legacy
Baker Langston Kornegay Legacy, LLC, dba as BLK Legacy, LLC is a limited liability corporation charged with the stewardship of family farmland situated along one of the southern curves of the Neuse River outside of the city limits of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Since the devastating losses from Hurricane Matthew in 2016 followed by Hurricane Florence in 2018 productive agricultural land use has presented a huge challenge. We are seeking collaboration and funding to implement a comprehensive resilience plan to mitigate further land erosion caused by flooding of the Neuse River basin. Also at stake are the final burial places at the historical (status pending) Buckhorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery adjacent to BLK Legacy, LLC family farmland.

Environmental conservation and preservation are often used interchangeably, but the concepts differ. While conservation protects the environment through the responsible use of natural resources, preservation protects the environment from harmful human activities. Thus, the primary objective of BLK Legacy, LLC is to conserve and preserve the family farmland while implementing productive agricultural uses for the acreage.
